CLASS PROJECT: SHIRT WITH BOW TIE GIFT CARD HOLDER

Here's an idea for a Male Greeting Card with Gift Card Holder.  The outside is a Shirt with Bow Tie and Buttons and the inside a slide out Card with a Gift Card Holder.

The patterned paper is from the Kaleidoscope Designer Series Paper.

Measurements
Basic Black Card stock
2 @ 4" x 5"
1 @ 3 3/4" x 3/8"
Extra card stock for the Bow Builder Punch, 3 @ 1/2" Circle Punch and 'for you' from the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits Dies

Whisper White DSP
2 @ 3 3/4" x 4 3/4"

DSP
@ 8 1/2" x 5 1/2"
1 @ 3 1/2" x 2"
1 @ 3 3/4" x 3/8"

Instructions
To make the Shirt, score the DSP on the long edge at 2 1/8" each end. Run a strip of adhesive along the bottom inside between the 2 fold lines.  Fold in the sides to create the shirt. Fold each shirt collar back (gently) and adhere with a glue dot.

Make a Bow from the Bow Build Punch and attach to the Shirt under the collar with strong adhesive.  Using the extra Basic Black card stock, punch 2 circles close to each other with the 1/16" circle handheld punch to create the button holes, then punch out with the 1/2" circle punch.  Repeat for the remaining 2 buttons and attach to the shirt with Dimensionals.

For the Card front & back, attach Whisper White card stock to the Basic Black card stock.  When attaching the DSP to the front of the card, don't adhere the top as the gift card needs to slot inside.  Attach the black strip with adhesive and the 'for you' greeting with tombow. Attach the DSP strip to the back of the card and write your greeting.  The Card will nicely fit inside the shirt.

This Project is quite easy to complete and would great in many of the Stampin' Up! DSP's.

Happy stamping,
Sue.

CLASS PROJECT: CARD IN A BOX ~ BIRD HOUSE

I have been wanting to make a Card in a Box for some time now after seeing all the inspiring Projects on Pinterest.  I came across a Bird House design by Jacquii McLeay of Splotch Design and knew this was the one for a Class Project.

The Bird House predominately features the Bird Builder Punch along with the 1 1/4" & 1 3/8" Circle Punches, the Petite Petals Punch and the Modern Label Punch.

Some of the back piece was cut away to create a roof line for the Bird House.

The wing on the Bird has been textured embossed and the Artisan Label Punch double mounted in coordinating card stock.

The featured colours are Calypso Coral, Chocolate Chip, Hello Honey, Wild Wasabi and Crumb Cake DSP.

Some of the flowers and leaves have been attached to stripes of acetate before being adhered to the inside of the Box.

I hope you have enjoyed my project and I look forward to sharing more Card in a Box projects with you in the future.

Happy Stamping,
Sue.

3D PROJECT: Tic Tac Gift Box

Tic Tacs are a candy treat that have been around for years and who doesn't like to receive a candy treat, especially if it has cute packaging that has been handmade.  Here's my little story behind the inspiration for the Tic Tac Gift Box.

When I was a little girl, I wanted a green cat!  Growing up, there will be those special presents you receive for your birthday from family members that stay in your memory forever.  For my seventh birthday, I received a plush white cat which was about 1 meter long from top to tail and I carried it everywhere to the point all the plush in the neck sank down to the belly.

Although this wasn't the green cat I really wanted, I now have 3 white cats at home, which I think as a blank canvas.  I would never color my cats green, but I would the cat images from the 'You Little Furball' stamp set using one of my new favourite 2015-2017 In Colors 'Cucumber Crush'.

The 24g Tic Tac Gift Boxes featured on my Blog a few posts ago.  If you missed it, click here.   In Australia, we also have the 49g Tic Tac BigBox in a multitude of flavours including Fruit Adventure, which I've used for my Project today.

How adorable is this DSP?  This is from the Cherry on Top Designer Series Paper Stack, which now comes in 6" x 6".
The greeting 'LOVE YA' comes from the Floral Wings Stamp Set, which is available as a Hostess Gift in the new Annual Stampin' Up! Catalogue (from June 2nd).
The flower is from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack and has been adorned with a Basic Jewell Rhinestone.

The Tic Tacs are held in place with a Belly Band.  The Tic Tacs slide out and the best thing is that the Gift Box can be refilled with another Tic Tac BigBox.

The Belly Band around the outside of the Gift Box keeps the front closed and stops the Tic Tacs from falling out.  The Belly Band simply slides off and slides back on.

Now, let me share the technique with you how I created the stamped cat image peeking through the circle.

Firstly, punch out a 1" circle with vellum or another material which is see through. Next, stamp your image in the bottom left corner.  Place the vellum over the stamped image and attach a little bit of adhesive on the front of the vellum.

Carefully position the DSP over the top of the white card stock and press down.

Lift off the DSP and the vellum circle will be attached to the back of the DSP.

Using the 1" Circle Punch, position the punch over the vellum and punch out the circle.

Put adhesive on the edges of the DSP and attach to the white card stock.  Repeat the same technique for the inside of the Gift Box.

If you would like to create this Tic Tac (49g) Gift Box yourself, here are the measurements in centimeters:

Main Cover (cucumber crush card stock) 12.2 x 8.8cm (1 piece)
Score on the long side @ 5 cm & 7.2 cm
Background (white card stock) 8.4 x 4.6cm (3 pieces)
Outer DSP & Inside left panel) 8 x 4.2cm (3 pieces)
Outer Side Panel (DSP) 8.4 x 1.8cm (1 piece)
Inside Belly Band (cucumber crush card stock) 22.5 x 2.5cm
DSP on inside front of Belly Band 8.2 x 2.1cm
Outside Belly Band (cucumber crush card stock) 16 x 1.5cm

When putting together the inside Belly Band, I wrapped the card stock strip around the Tic Tac Box and used my fingers to create the fold lines.  There will be a little overlap of card stock and just make sure it is at the back so it can't be seen.  Run some strong adhesive along the back length of the Belly Band and attach to the inside of the Gift Box.

For the outside Belly Band, I wrapped the card stock strip around the Gift Box with the Tic Tacs inside and used strong adhesive to join the overlap at the back.

Measurements for the Tic Tac 24g Gift Box can be found in my Blog post here.

I hope you have enjoyed my Project and make up a Tic Tac Gift Box yourself.  With the Minyon Tic Tacs just being released, imagine how cool you would be if you made up a Tic Tac Gift Box with a Minyon punch art on the front.

Happy stamping,
Sue.

Crazy Crafters Blog Hop May 2015 - Theme: Sneak Peek Items

Thank you for joining The Crazy Crafters team for our monthly blog hop.  The theme for May is Sneak Peek, which features some of the new Products in the upcoming Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue, which goes live on June 2nd.

I have had a thing for Butterflies in my card designs lately and I don't think it is going away anytime soon with the release of a new Hostess Stamp Set called Floral Wings.  The stamped butterfly and greeting is from this stamp set and I couldn't resist using the new 2015-2017 In Colors.

Cucumber Crush with Tip Top Taupe
I love the patterns on the new Boho Chic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.

Delightful Dijon with Tip Top Taupe
The Dotted Lace Trim is 1" wide and comes in all the 2015-2107 In Colors.  I have cut the Trim in half horizontally on my card design and adhered the straight edge at the top of the Boho Chic embossed card stock and the scallop edge at the bottom.

Mint Macaron with Tip Top Taupe
How cute are the little resin-like flowers on the Butterfly.  I love using embellishments on my card design and the flowers are from Blossom Accents and come in the new 2015-2017 In Colors.  These are a must have on your wish list.

Watermelon Wonder with Tip Top Taupe
Have you got a favourite color yet from the 2015-2017 In Colors?  I am quite taken with Cucumber Crush (because green is my favourite color) and Watermelon Wonder, but to tell you the truth I love them all!

I hope you have enjoyed my Project and I would love for you to leave a comment.

Pls click on the Next button below to work your way through the Blog Hop and see the gorgeous cards my fellow Crazy Crafters have made using new products from the soon to be released Annual Catalogue.

Happy Stamping,

PRODUCT FEATURE - BERRY BASKET BIGZ L DIE

Have you seen the Berry Basket in the 2015 Occasions Catalogue?  It makes the cutest basket just right for delivering a little special something.

Use the Berry Basket Die with a Big Shot and Standard Cutting Pads. The finished box size is 4" each side x 3-1/4" high, 5" with handle (10.2 cm wide x 8.3 cm high, 12.7 cm with handle).

For the basket handle, if you choose to include one, you can use the straight edge strips or the scallop edge strips.  In this case, I have used the straight edge strips for the handle, made a couple of extra scallop edge strips in DSP and another coordinating DSP colour and layered them.  The scallop edge is facing down, but you could also face the scallops up for a different look.

Before assembling the Basket, I have run it through the Big Shot with the Decorative Dots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder to add some texture.  The Berry Basket has been finished with a coordinating card stock colour Bow Builder Punch.

If you missed my Easter Theme Blog post, check it out here, where you can see the Berry Basket I made incorporating the bunny from the Cheerful Critters Stamp Set and a Candy Dot on the Bow.
Happy Stamping,
Sue.

Stampin' Up! Inspire Create Share Convention Blog Hop

Thank you for joining The Crazy Crafters team for our blog hop.  I was one of the 12 Crazy Crafters to attend the Stampin' Up! Inspire Create Share Convention up on the Gold Coast last week.

This is the 4th Stampin' Up! Convention I have attended and the experience always stays in my memory for a long time afterwards.  Imagine 700-800 ladies (& a few men) from all over Australia and New Zealand with the same passion and love for paper craft in the same location for 3 days.  There are a lot of happy faces, laughter and a buzz of excitement.

Some attendees choose to make a Convention swap.  This is a card front or 3D Project that an attendee will make and swap with another attendee that has also made a card or 3D Project.  This year I didn't have the time to make swaps, instead I made a Convention gift for my fellow Crazy Crafters - Tic Tac Gift Boxes.

Colours from L->R Blackberry Bliss, Melon Mambo, Bermuda Bay, Calypso Coral, Crisp Cantaloupe, Coastal Cabana & Crumb Cake

The stamped image is from the You Little Furball stamp set and being a cat lover, is one of my favourite stamp sets.  The colours were chosen by the Crazy Crafters as their favourite current Stampin' Up! colour.

To keep the Tic Tac Box closed, I made a belly band in Basic Black & a punch flower from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack adorned with a Basic Rhinestone Jewell, which slips off to reveal the inside.

To add some Fun to the Tic Tac Gift Box design, I included the same stamped image upside down on the inside panel.  Very cute if I say so myself.  To keep the Tic Tacs in place, I wrapped a strip of Basic Black card stock around the Tic Tacs and adhered it to the back panel with some Sticky Strip.  The Tic Tac box slides out for consumption, yum yum and once gone can be replaced with another full Tic Tac Box!

A personalised touch was added to the Tic Tac Gift Box design with a handwritten note on the back to say it was from me.

I hope you have enjoyed my Project and I would love for you to leave a comment.

If you would like to make the Tic Tac Gift Box yourself, here are the measurements for the 24g Tic Tac Box in centimeters:

Main Cover (black card stock) 10.6 x 6.9cm (1 piece)
Score on the long side @ 4.4cm & 6.2 cm
Background (white card stock) 6.5 x 4cm (3 pieces)
Outer DSP & Inside left panel) 6.1 x 3.6cm (3 pieces)
Outer Side Panel (colored card stock) 6.5 x 1cm (1 piece)
Inside Belly Band (black card stock) 18.5 x 2cm
DSP on inside front of Belly Band 6.2 x 1.6cm
Outside Belly Band (black card stock) 14 x 1cm
